It’s inauguration day, and it has rained all day. I believe God Himself is weeping.
I’ve been disappointed in elections before. I had hoped that Ford would win over Carter, but I thought Ronald Regan was a Hollywood “song and dance man”. Both of them turned out to be pretty darned good presidents.
I would have referred Secretary Clinton over Donald Trump, by a large margin, and had she lost to anybody else, I would not have feared for the future of the country.
Nuff’ said.
I have been incredulous at the the vetting for potential cabinet members such as Betty DeVos. I am greatly concerned about the next four years. However, I do know that we have had some humdinger presidents before and hope that our forefathers’ work with Constitution, we will survive. Wilson, Buchanan, Nixon, et al. that have sorely tested our Constitution for various reasons; I would just rather not add to the list of the absurb.
I am concerned too about our country for the next few years. The cabinet picks, the tweets and now the inaugration have not allayed my fears.
Thank you for reading my blog. Nice to “meet you”!
I said the same thing to my friend yesterday…has been raining (non-stop in Northern CA) and I told her that it’s symbolic: Mother Earth is crying over this whole mess. I’ve been sick to my stomach over it and like you, never had this problem with “other Presidents” that I didn’t vote for. This man and his cabinet members are very, very scary to me…very, very scary. My heart is so, so sad…. 😦
