Well, Blow Me Down

31 Jul

A tremendous storm blew up while we were out last night. All of a sudden, the wind was so strong it grabbed the car doors and threatened to make them close the other way. Normally, when we know a bad storm is coming, one of us will take the hanging baskets off the shepherd’s crooks in the front yard, because I’ve been worried the pots would go flying.

When I went out to feed the critters this morning, I discovered the wind and the weight of the pots had actually bent the steel posts!

We didn’t lose power – that I know of. I hit the bed and died. The power could have been on and off a half dozen times am I wouldn’t have known.

Glad all is safe and no property damage per se. Living in big countries like yours, I guess you are exposed to life’s elements. Take care and stay safe

Wow that was one humdinger. A few years ago, an overnight storm stripped my car’s roof of all the rubber striping. You are lucky your door didn’t get turned off. I hope you guys are safe.

Wow! I am surprised you didn’t have trees fall. Please be careful with the rains that will come with Isaias.

We were surprised, as well! There were some limbs down along Rt. 7, so we feared the worst, but other than a few twiggy branches we didn’t have any “wind fall”.
